Latif`s Restaurant in Turlock

Cool building with an old school diner menu and staff. I doubt that it's been updated since it was built. It is kind of rundown, but clean. My breakfast was good, but I don't think I'd eat there for any other meal. It's the kind of place where regulars take precedence over others.

Excellent service and food quality/taste is like home. First time here and it most definitely wont be the last. Cant believe I have never been here untill now. Staff is super friendly and gives you that family feel. I will recommend this place to all my family and friends. To all reading this review .....dont give it another thought.

Food was great. Service was a little slow, but it was a holiday Monday, and they were busy. Give them a try!

What to say about Latif's Restaurant, well it a seat yourself type of place. So of course we sat ourselves. Fifteen minutes later I had to stand up and ask where the waitress was and are we going to be served. Once we were served, the waitress couldn't get anything right. Maybe at Saturday night without partying would be the right thing for you girl. Oh, next time will be better. Gotta go...see ya.

Lived in Turlock for most of my school years and had never been here....i think i was missing out.Great service....even better food! Great service, good food!

This was our first visit since the new ownership. We were happy with our experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was still the familiar Latif's we all know and love, with just enough new thrown in. We will be back.

This place is a vital part of Turlock history. I remember going there 30 years ago as a child. Unfortunately these days, the food is terrible. If you think of a dish that is impossible to make badly, somehow they will find a way.

New ownership. Super busy. Was OK.. Waited an hour for our food. Party of 10. Coffe cups WAYY to small like tea cups not enough bodies to refill coffee. Will be back as I love this place but needs a lil work still.

True American icon. Excellent excellent breakfast. Homemade pies 😋👌 better than mom used to make. You go to this restaurant is like you walked back into the 60s

Classic old style & pier's are amazing!

This restaurant is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. everytime I want to go to a decent dinner, this restaurant comes straightaway to my head. fresh and varied food and a rich menu.trained staff, and nice atmosphere. And very important, the bill is decent. I suggest this place with no hesitation.

Good food and kind service. Patience is key some times. Try the holinday breakfast burrito

7 of us went there because we like trying different places and non of us had been there before. We were having a great time visiting with each other. there were a lot of people there so we knew it was going to be longer than normal to get our food. We didn't realize 45 mins had passed but we stayed talking. Another 20 mins passed. We were so hungry. We looked at the server here and there but it was just taking too too long. After 1 and 1/2 hours, she comes and tells us that they couldn't find our order and if we wanted to order again. We were so upset and said no. We will not go there again. They really should have given us a free dinner for another day.Very disappointed. I give it no stars because of them losing our order . The food looked very delicious. It was too bad we didn't get to eat some.

On Christmas Eve day I called them for a Pecan Pie which is delicious by the way. They said all the pie orders were accounted for and to check back in the afternoon. I stopped in at around 4 pm and the gentleman at the counter said the pecan pies were sold out and that he had few other pies available so I chose one, to my surprise he insisted for me to take the pie at no charge and that was his Christmas gift to me. I just want to say thank you for a delicious gift my family and I enjoyed it, May you and your Establishment be blessed in 2020

My wife, daughter and sister-in-law were in Turlock for a family wedding last weekend and by chance took a trip into the 60’s. My 16 year old daughter googled “great place for breakfast” in Turlock. Based on Great reviews we decided on this charming old-school dinner. The food is fantastic, but more so we were greeted with a huge smile by the owner. At my age I’ve been to a lot of “dinners”, but never one as friendly and clean! After telling the owner that I sell restaurant equipment for a living he walked me through his kitchen, I was very impressed on the cleanliness.Lastly, it was truly inspiring seeing the wide variety of clientele... everyone from sweet, well dressed, straight from church, 80 to 90 year old ladies eating Swedish Thins to the table full of respectful millennials eating breakfast burritos bigger than my arm! WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

Delicious New York steak and best breakfast around

I have to downgrade due to the new "motif." There is a new owner and while he seems nice enough and well meaning, he added TV's to the wall over the kitchen and most of the nostalgia pictures were removed. It completely changed the feel of the "next door" restaurant which was probably the objective, but for me it was a negative change. This isn't supposed to be a modern sports bar. Latif's was Latif's and had the reputation precisely because of the way it was before.

Delicious food and great friendly service.

It was good. The place is your average ol' diner style gig. We went for breakfast and it was good, homestyle cooking. Nothing crazy good. We were kinda wondering why so many famous people go there. Nothing that crazy good. But it definitely wasn't like Dennys either. Didn't have the mass produced feel.

Service was great most of the food was good except the potatoes were dry I had to take a drink of my coffee on every bite of potatoes.

Food and service were great! I spoke with the owner , told him it was our first time there. Gave me a slice of apple pie to try, on the house. Pie was great! We will definitely be back! I LOVED THE DESIGN/FURNITURE ETC OF THIS PLACE, ITS LIKE A TIME CAPSULE!

Adorable retro style! Too bad they don't have grits but they said they are coming out with a new menu soon. The waffle we had was so-so, but the omelet was good - even the avocado on top of it was perfect. Friendly service which is always appreciated

Food was cold and bland. Service was terrible. Pie was good but expensive.

Worst pie I ever had there. Clerks acted like they didn't want to serve me. It was sad to deal with a rude place like that. Pie tasted like it had slobber in it. I ended up throwing it away.

Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Old fashion great tasting food. Love there hush browns with scrambled eggs, sausages and 2 awesome tasting pancakes 🥞 the waitress is very nice and friendly...

Good, all American, diner food. Have eaten here a couple of times now and both times did NOT disappoint! First time, had French toast plate and it was tasty and filling. Second visit, I had a B.L.T. sandwich. The bread was toasted perfectly and the French fries were fresh, hot and of a very, generous portion. I really do like taking a trip back to the late 1960's, early 1970's, by dining in at Latif's. Their original, dated, decore is simple, but perfect since I find myself longing more and more for how things were as to how things are nowadays. I miss the simplicity of an eating establishment that doesn't try gimmicks or more, modern food choices. Latif's is one of a kind. If you want some simple, good, diner food, this is a great place to get it!
